How to unlock Mikoto

Continue the main story into the Ancient Civilization Zone in Chapter 2. During the Power the Gate objective, the search for Lightning Stones leads to Mikoto's encounter. Finish the encounter and rescue him, then return to the Cleanse Walker. You do not need to search for him in the field every time you want another reset.

Use story progress as the checkpoint. Published guides give different playtime estimates for reaching him, so an hour count is not a reliable way to tell whether you have unlocked the option.

How to reset Emma or Koo

Once Mikoto is available, follow this menu path:

1. Return to the Cleanse Walker and interact with the wall Communicator near the exit.
2. Select Call Mikoto, then Reset Attributes rather than Talk.
3. Choose Emma or Koo. A reset applies to the selected character; it does not wipe both builds at once.
4. Read the points to be returned and the Amber cost on the confirmation screen. Cancel if the preview does not cover the investment you want to change.
5. Confirm the payment, then open the character's attribute and skill menus to reassign the returned points. You can also allocate them at a Camp.

Which points are refunded?

Launch walkthroughs describe refunds for attributes and lower-tree roots. Patch 1.0.11 explicitly adds resets for skills tied to flower nodes. Check the current game menu rather than relying on the old upper-versus-lower rule.

• Attributes and roots: use the documented Mikoto route and review the selected character.
• Flower nodes: reset support was added in 1.0.11. The notes do not map every node to a refund or explain a separate price.

How much Amber does a respec cost?

Launch guides report a charge of 100 Amber per allocated Attribute Point. For example, 30 invested points would cost 3,000 Amber under that rule. Use the amount displayed for your selected character before confirming; this guide has not tested the price on every platform or patch.

Decide which points you need back, then compare that goal with the refund preview before spending Amber.

If the reset option is missing

Check the unlock and menu location in this order:

• Still before Mikoto's Chapter 2 encounter: continue the main objective until you have rescued him.
• Already met Mikoto: return to the Cleanse Walker and use the Communicator. A Camp lets you spend points, but is not the documented place to call him for a reset.
• Only seeing dialogue: check that you selected Reset Attributes after calling Mikoto.
• Able to reach the confirmation but unable to pay: compare your Amber balance with the selected character's displayed cost.
