Beast of Reincarnation New Game Plus

Keep your build, restart the story, and save your first-run cleanup before committing to the replay.

Answer at a glance

Finish the story, then choose New Game+

After reaching the ending, save your cleared game and select New Game+ from the main menu. Use that completed save as the starting point. Progression and equipment carry forward, but story keys and world discoveries need separate treatment.

What carries over and what resets

Launch walkthroughs agree on core progression. GameFAQs gives narrower exceptions than Game8’s broad summary. This is a source comparison, not a new in-game transfer test.

Claim Current verdict Evidence Grade
Character growth and equipment Carried forward Game8 describes retaining growth, weapons, and armor. Published guide
Story progress and key items Restart / reacquire GameFAQs explicitly excludes keys and narrative progress. Do not assume the three colored keys are available immediately. Published guide
World collectibles Some reset GameFAQs reports restored collectibles with shrines as an exception. A renewed pickup or map marker is not proof that an achievement counter was erased. Category-dependent
Cleanse Walker facilities Retained GameFAQs reports facility carryover; the first-time cooking bonus does not repeat. Published guide

How to start New Game Plus

Complete the game on your chosen first-run difficulty. Game8 describes the menu unlocking after the ending; PowerPyx identifies completed saves with a star.

  1. Save after the ending and keep a separate manual save of that completed world.
  2. Finish any exploration you want to do before the story restarts.
  3. Return to the main menu and select New Game+.
  4. Choose the cleared save and read the transfer screen before confirming.
  5. Save the replay into a separate slot so you can still load the original completed run.

Before you start: a practical checklist

Treat the transfer as a change of playthrough. A small inventory note is more useful than assuming that every marker, object, and counter behaves the same way.

  • Keep the cleared save you can return to.
  • Record missing collection entries and finish convenient first-run routes.
  • Check your equipped blade, ammo upgrades, and a close-range fallback.
  • Photograph or note any counter you want to compare after transfer.

Reincarnation+ and future difficulty updates

Launch walkthroughs describe Reincarnation+ as the NG+ mode. Do not read this as a precise damage multiplier: published comparisons differ, and this guide has not benchmarked enemies.

The official 1.0.12 notes still list a harder NG+ mode and a mode above Hard as future work. They also describe a planned option to bypass three zones after the Great Wall Terraces. That shortcut is not an available route established by these notes.

What changed for repeat runs in 1.0.12?

Previously viewed Tips stop appearing in NG+. Almost all cutscenes and finisher animations can be skipped, though a small number of cutscenes still remain mandatory. Follow the in-game skip prompt rather than expecting every transition to disappear.

If New Game+ is missing or the transfer looks wrong

Check that you saved after completing the ending, then return to the title menu rather than looking for a Camp option. If the menu cannot use your save, load it and verify its completion state before replacing any file.

If your replay is missing a story key, reacquire it during the new story. If equipment or character growth is unexpectedly missing, stop and compare the selected save with the original completed slot. Do not overwrite the original while investigating.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start New Game Plus after finishing on an easier difficulty?

Game8 reports that completing the main game unlocks New Game+ regardless of the difficulty selected for that first run.

Do the red, blue, and yellow keys carry over?

Do not plan around keeping them. GameFAQs excludes story key items from carryover; collect them again as the replay requires.

Do I need NG+ for completion?

Yes. The Reincarnated completion requirement is finishing New Game+. Starting the mode alone is not enough.

Can I skip Pilgrim’s Zone and the following regions now?

The zone-bypass option is still listed as a future change in the official 1.0.12 notes checked September 20, 2026.
